Something I came up with to keep straps from flapping about in the wind
might help.
I cut short pieces from flat tubular webbing and slip the webbing tubes over
the straps so they
come from below up to the buckle. You will have to dismantle the strap from
the buckle to install.
It will keep the straps together and may keep them from slipping. Melt the
cut ends to stop fraying.
The flat tubular webbing I use is equal to the strap size it will fit over.
Tuck the loose end into the tube.
For me they serve as a strap keeper so they don't flap in the wind or get in
the way, and they also
keep the adjustment setting. To hold the setting, slide the tube up to the
buckle; to keep the strap from
flapping slide it down. Two tube loops on a shoulder strap can do both jobs.
The source for the tubular
webbing is rock climbing shops or catalogs.

Does anybody know of a quick fix if the straps stop holding. I hate
going down a mountain pulling the straps every ten seconds.
