[pct-l] What is your current pack weight now

APPALACHIAN TRAIL:
Basepack weight: ~30lbs
Total Weight (5 days food w/water) ~45lbs
Weight on Feb 28,1998 :195 lbs(too much Magnanti
cooking, not nearly as active as I am now)
Weight on Aug 1, 1998: 145 lbs (scrawny when I
finished, my family and frends still talk about that.
No zero days from Deleware Water Gap to Katahdin,
heavier pack and tougher terrain took its toll)

PACIFIC CREST TRAIL:
Base packweight: 12 lbs
Total Weight (5 days food w/water): ~24lbs
Weight on Apr 26 2002: ~185 lbs
Weight on Sept 12 2002: ~168 lbs (about what I should
weigh!)

As Chris said, the base pack weight may be a better
indicator than total pack weight. For example, I
naturally carried more water in Mojave than on the AT.
In the AT, esp. in Pennsylvania - Souther Mass., could
hit deli almost every day for lunch so my food load
was lighter.

My basepack weight for the Colorado Trail was 9.5 lbs.
