Well, Yogi, there's your next long-distance hike: From KC to Mt. Sunflower
on the KCT (Kansas Crest Trail).

yes, but Mt. Sunflower is about as far away from Kansas City as you can get
and still be in the state of Kansas.  KC is on the far east side of the
state, and Mt. Sunflower is pretty much in Colorado!!
