Vermillion Valley Resort will be cheaper than Muir Trail Ranch, and a lot
easier to send supplies to.

Subject: [pct-l] Packers

Hi there,
Now, I would like to pick the brains of people in the know.
If I should get a chance to be on the PCT this year I need to figure out
resupply in the Sierra. I am not capable of carrying huge amounts of food
and here is what I am thinking.

Kennedy Meadows to Kersage Pass 85 miles
Kersage Pass to Muir Ranch 66. miles
Muir Ranch to Tuolumne Meadows 86 miles.

I really did not want to hike out to the Onion Head Trailhead but I would
like to search for packers with horses, mules or foot or whatever to give
me a resupply the Kersage Pass trail cutoff. I am quite willing to pay that
is not a problem. I understand that the bear box at the junction of the PCT
and Kersage pass has been taken out, so it would mean I would have to meet
the packer there.

Now if you have any ideas on packers, mules or lamas etc. or a person who
would like to hike in and meet me (for money of course) then I would
appreciate knowing how to contact these people. A few years ago I was hiking
up the trail from Cedar Grove to Vidette Meadows and a horse pack train
passed me on that trail.

Any ideas are appreciated.
