[pct-l] Re: Who is thru hiking in 05?



You won't really miss any important info by not going to the kickoff.  
Meadow Ed's water report is good to hear but you can also get that info 
online (from AsABat's page, I think).  Anyway, between the online water 
report and Yogi's book (which I recommend you get), you'll do fine.  You 
probably won't see anyone for quite a while. That's the real benefit of the 
kick off.  You get to meet a lot of people and start hiking in a group.  
Good if you like hiking with others, not so good if you want to be alone.
