Another place you might ask this question is the San Gorgonio Wilderness
Association bulletin board. Go to www.sgwa.org and click on "Visit the
Bulletin Board." The wilderness is just west of the trail, and conditions
should be similar for similar elevations. They sometimes also have info on
the dirt forest roads into Mission Creek Trail Camp, etc.

You might consider hiking north to south, as it would be mostly downhill,
and you'd be starting in the snow and could determine early if you wanted to
abort the trip. The only downside is a couple short steep climbs near the
south end.

in 2000.
