[pct-l] Lost hikers,......!
Everything I have read says they have rescued everyone they know about from
the sierra. They keep finding people they weren't even aware of. That is the
part that scares me. How many hikers are still up there that haven't been
reported yet. Last count I heard was 20 (or was it 21) hikers rescued and
all the rock climbers rescued. Even the 2 who initially didn't want to be
rescued of El Capitan. The only casualties were the 2 Japanese climbers.
It was the intensity of the storm that caught everyone by surprise. Here in
the SF Bay area we got it as a really strong rain storm. One of the
strongest in years.
I am really proud of all those hikers doing the right thing - staying put in
their tents, caves, ranger stations, whatever. I think they did all hikers a
favor by not getting killed up there.
