About 5 miles down the road from VVR is Mono Hot Springs Campground.
I've got friends that go there year after year. Can't beat the rates.
I still like VVR though and think prices are reasonable considering
the cost of getting stuff in there. Several sets of owners have tried
to make a profit there and I don't think they made much. If the
current owners are making enough to make it a going business, great.
It would be a real loss to PCT and JMT hikers if that place went out
of business.
