[pct-l] jmt in first half of september

hi all-

i'm planning a sobo jmt hike from aug 28 to sept 18. while i understand
that specific conditions are ultimately unpredictable, my basic
understanding is that the mosquitos are largely absent at that time,
there are far fewer stream fords, nights dip to about 30 degrees or so,
and afternoon thundershowers are possible but not necessarily
"guaranteed." also, snow is possible but less likely than rain.

since i'm trying to get a variety of opinions/experiences, does anyone
care to weigh in on these factors, especially if there's anyone that
thinks these factors might be significantly different this year given
the way the snowmelt and weather in general has been so far? (i know,
too early to tell with any degree of bankable accuracy.)

also, given the fact that there will be less water at that time, are
there any specific sections where obtaining water might become an issue?
how much water should i plan on carrying, to be on the safe side?

any other general advice from anyone who's done the jmt in early sept.
would be greatly appreciated! also, if there's anyone out there planning
a similar jmt hike around that time frame, i'd like to hear from you!

cheers-
