Same here. I put my extra Platy in a Therm-a-Rest Deluxe Pillow. I have a
push pull cap on it that makes it easy to blow up. I sometimes fill it with
water if the surface is slick. The extra weight helps it stay in place and
makes the pillow firmer. Be doing it for 5 or 6 years now. Now problems yet.

Yes.  I have a first generation platypus  (from before MSR acquired this
product line) which was less durable than the current bladders. 
It has been a bladder and a pillow for the last five years.  This year I
retired my original bladder because there were micro-cracks inside which
seem to be growing things which I have been unable to fully clean out.
