[pct-l] Bear Repellant

I thought I would double check and see if I could find where I heard
this. Though I didn't find a reference to this exact incident (I didn't
look too hard) I did find this, which supports the basic idea behind my
original email:

http://www.absc.usgs.gov/research/brownbears/pepperspray/pepperspray.htm

Scroll down to the "I have heard that bear spray actually attracts
bears? Who would want to use something that does that?" section.

In short, use pepper spray as it is intended - spray it into the bears
face. Do not spray it onto something unless you want to attract bears.
