[pct-l] Oregon in October

If you are really fast, you might be able to make it to Cascade Locks in 3
weeks and that might work, but you are pushing it and need luck with the
weather. You can easily get off the trail in several places: Crater Lake,
Bend/Sisters (Elk Lake) or Santiam Pass, or Mt. Hood.

Typically you aren't going to get deep snow until November, but I'd stop
around Oct 15th. If there isn't snow, there probably will be tons of rain.,
although also some really nice sunny spells - for a few days. You can easily
get freezing temperatures. But, we have had that in August also.

For me, though, after Oct 15th, the clouds normally are present and you just
don't get the views. Hiking day after day in cloudy, rainy, sleety weather
just isn't fun.
