[pct-l] JMT in early June

>>I'm attempting to hike the JMT southbound in early
June, >>around June 1st

For what it is worth, I arrived at Kennedy Meadows on
June 5th when I did the PCT. (Left June 7th)

I seem to recall the snow level being about average
(was low, Spring dump made it all equal out.)

Weather wise, it was beautiful!

Negotiating the passes did take some time, however.
Because the trail is under snow, important to have
decent route navigation skills. Of course, by early
June some intrepid souls had already been across and
could follow their tracks some times. (A few foot
prints went in some wrong directions, however! Again,
have some decent navigation skills before going...)

You may find it slower going due to the snow, but
overall, think doing the JMT in June is do-able *IF*
the snow pack is not an absurdly high level.

For what it is worth, was doing low twenties through
the High Sierra. YMMV.

So, yes, doing the JMT around June 1st can be done.
IF the snow pack is not too high
IF you are aware of and can accept the challenges
that going through there can present at this time of
the year
IF you have some decent navigations skills and do not
mind some basic route finding

The challenges aren't overly difficult, just something
to be aware of. Only you know if these challenges
exceede your comfort level or not.

The High Sierra is gorgeous. Enjoy!
