[pct-l] There's still snow up north

We hiked a few miles of the PCT in the Northern Sierra over the past week.
Although much snow has melted at lower elevations, there is still a lot
above 7,000 feet.  Here's a picture from the trail a couple of miles north
of Donner Pass:

The snow surface is hard enough to hike on without snowshoes.  Skis would
have been fun for zooming the downslope portions.
