A quick note to all of this year's thru-hiking contingency: Be sure to visit the Anderson's a day's hike after the Saufley's, for it is a long time later that you'll be treated so nicely on consecutive nights! If you're concerned that it takes away from the "wilderness aspect" of your hike, fear not, there will be plenty of that. The real issue isn't deciding whether or not to visit, but when (and how) to leave. Beware the void that sucks you in for days on end!
