I don't know if it was said before, but prepaid plans are the only plans
foreigners can get easily. Even if visitors obtain a fresh social security
number (as a thru hiker you won't!) they still won't have (any positive)
credit history. (Sometimes depositing around 1000 dollars with a phone
company might change their mind. Ask them, but there is no guarantee.)
