Hello John,
Maybe I missed something somewhere, but what are you talking about as a
recent proactive approach to the problem facing the thruhikers in Washington
State this year? I could not find anything on the PTCA website.

Congrats to the PCTA for its recent proactive approach
to the problem facing the thruhikers in Washington
State this year and for the foreseeable future. 
Sounds like there is an active plan in place to assist
in a re-route.  Good luck to the class of '04.    john
