[pct-l] Shelter Conundrum

I'm not too sure about the Lodge itself, other than it may be outside of
the Mt. Hood Wilderness Boundary, since there's a road up to it? Of course
it was built long before the Wilderness Act went into affect, so maybe
there's some sort-of Grandfather clause? Also, along with the lodge are
the 3 ski resorts that also cover the south and east slopes of Mt. Hood. 
The Palmer lift, for example, goes up to 8500ft! I believe this is well
inside of the Wilderness boundary.

On a similar note, there are also several shelters like the ones
CmountainDave described, also built by the CCC in the 30's, located around
the mountain along the Timberline Trail. Only 4 of these remain, that I'm
aware of,(McNeil Pt., Cairn Basin, Cooper Spur, and Elk Meadows). The rest
have been destroyed by falling trees etc. I think originally there were
6-8 of them?

Any other Portlander's want to shed some light on this? I don't have my
maps in front of me!
