Hey James (& PCTListers) --

Doing the income taxes has got me a little behind on the list, and in need of
a little fun. Let's see....

That would be ($162.94 plus $85.49) times 8.25 percent sales tax, or $20.50
in California sales tax not paid. So, just a gentle reminder that this is the
amount which you are (as of this year) expected to write in on line 51 of your
California State Tax Form 540, i.e., Use Tax. In previous years we were
supposed to file a separate Use Tax form.

The good news is, you won't have to do this until next year, having made your
purchase in 2004. (But keep your records.) The other good news is,
Sacramento probably has no way of discovering your out-of-state purchases unless you
document them on the internet. ;-)
