[pct-l] Wet Feet

When walking through snow for any significant distance with
trail runners, your feet will get wet and stay wet. In the
morning your shoes will be very damp or frozen depending
on where you left your shoes the night before. :)

An attempt to prevent this with barriers such as silnylon, etc
will probably result in wet feet via sweat.

If your concerned about wet feet from water crossings, stop,
remove your shoes, put on your dirtiest pair of socks and
cross. Yes, this takes time and may not be the most desirable
method for the impatient thru-hiker. :) It does keep your shoes
dry, though and cleans your socks at the same time.

Gaiters will help protect your legs from getting scratched up by the
the snow if your wearing shorts and not long pants.

The squish, squish of wet feet is a bit annoying, but not your
greatest concern. You'll see....
