[pct-l] Hitching

I'm the worst hitch hiker. I want to give up after 5 minutes. And yet, every
time in less than 20 minutes I got a ride. I do think meeting folks on the
trail is a very big plus. That worked for us at Kearsage Pass/Onion River to
Independence and Sonora Pass to Kennedy Meadows. But, those were spots where
there is a good chance of other day hikers on the trail.

Some of our worst were: getting into Wrightwood after Guffy Campground;
getting out of South Lake Tahoe; getting in and out of Sierra City; and
getting into Etna. At Walker Pass, a traveler going over the pass picked us
up and took us back down the way he had come to Onyx; we were met at the
trail head at Big Bear and Mohave by strangers who were just waiting for PCT
hikers.

Guess one just can't give up. For a guy, having a woman along helps. But, I
still don't have the patience for hitch hiking.
