[pct-l] 6th Annual Day Zero Pacific Crest Trail Kickoff

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Calling all 2000, 2001, 2002 and most importantly 2003
thru and section hikers! Come ye all to the ADZPCTKO to giveth your most
valuable advice to those who aspire to follow in your great footsteps. Taketh away
their butterflies and show them the errors of their humble hiking strategies.
Lighten their loads with your innovation and insights and cheer their spirits
with wine and good music!

Kings and Queens of the trail (Trail Angels in fact) will preside and provide
up-to-date info on their backyards in the wild.

The Trail Gods (well, Trail Gorrillas) will provide a project to help you
reconnect with the trail in an intimate way.

The Ancient Ones will show how they slaved away on the trail in the darkness
of no knowledge and little experience from the lack of those who went before.

Arrogant Predictors will make outrageous claims of water supply availability
in the terrible deserts of this serious land called California and foretell of
the first meltoff dates in the Great Sierra Mountains.

I make this special invitation to you, most recent thru-hikers, for it is you
who bring to the ADZPCTKO that which the Aspiring Ones crave most; recent
experiences and strategies.

However, I hereby invite all of you, the Ancient Ones, the Kings, the Queens,
the Trail Gods, the Arrogant Predictors, the Steadfast Section Hikers, the
Green Lizards of future aspirations, and you, those who seem to have been
forgotten in the high halls of the PCT kingdom, the Weekenders, whose numbers humble
all of the other groups who collect upon the Great Pacific Crest Trail.

Come, come quietly, come together and gather here. You are amongst friends,
amongst those whose glimer in their eyes is known to all of us, but to none
who have not walked in these footsteps. You will find peace, and freedom and
the love of your fellow mankind.
