[pct-l] beware of rash from fuel tablets



Thanks for the info about the hexamine, the fuel in Esbit or Coghlan's fuel 
tablets.

For several years on several long hikes I developed a rash on my finger 
tips, spreading from the most
used to the least used fingers. This was a serious problem and nothing 
seemed to help.
Now I understand that the rash is caused by contact with hexamine. Some of 
it changes to formic
acid that gets in my sweat glands and causes the rash.
For now on I'll try to avoid touching the tablets, and wash thoroughly if 
necessary. --David
