[pct-l] money



Most debit cards these days have the Visa logo so they can be used as a
credit card also (except at certain car rental agencies)..I would also
recommend carrying a couple of personal checks for emergencies...Back in 98,
the Sierra Hotel in Sierra City didn't take credit cards , only cash and
personal checks, and there was no ATM in town. The nice lady let me stay
there on my word that I would hitch to the next town and bring back some
cash the next day...a check would have been handy..
