[pct-l] Section G - Owens Peak Segment
I would believe the data book and guide. Go for a 2 day hike and try to get
a ride out. If you go in spring/summer, leave early from Walker Pass - it
is really hot going up.

Subject: [pct-l] Section G - Owens Peak Segment
Hi all
I was planning to day hike Section G "Owens Peak Segment" from Walker Pass
to Canebrake Road some time this year.
The PCT Databook Y2K mileage from Walker Pass to Canebrake Rd is 28.3 (
676.1 - 647.8 ) miles, but.... Using the best maps I can find and aerial
photographs I can only get about 18 miles.
18 miles in 1 day is a do-able day hike for me while 28 miles is not, is my
18 mile figure correct?
Thanks
Matt "Madog" Maxon
