[pct-l] hiking solo.

I hiked the Tahoe Rim Trail last fall, and did 4 days
with a friend and 6 solo. I had a great first few
days of hiking with him, but also had a great time
hiking solo for 125 miles.
That was the first time I'd done a significant solo
backpack, and I loved it. Get up when you want, hike
when you want, take breaks when you want, start
jogging (downhill) when you want. It's such a
mind-clearing great time. And I'm sure I never would
have done a 27 mile day if I wasn't solo.
That said, I do miss company when I am camping - it's
nice to light a little candle and talk for an hour
under the stars before sleeping. Nice time to relax
and share stories.
I hope on the PCT 2004 to hike solo most of the time
and camp with folks much of the time. Can't wait
until April!
