The problem is that people who receive daily digests get one email per
day with all of the day's pct-l posts in it.  If they see something in
there they want to reply to and just hit Reply, type their message and
send, then their email contains the entire digest plus the response
(usually over 100 KB in size).  This then lands in the next day's
digest, making it contain all of the previous day's posts plus the
current day's posts.  If someone responds to *that* digest and forgets
to trim it, then the next day's digest contains every post from the last
three days.  It gets to be a huge hassle in both download size (for
those on modems) and for trying to read the digests, since the old stuff
is mixed up with the new.  Imagine if you received three copies of all
posts from the last three days in your Inbox, all in random order!

The last time this happened was on Wednesday the 21st, so I think people
are getting the hint.  <grin>
