[pct-l] Weather conditions August/Sept Oregon & Washington

Great time to be hiking in Oregon and Washington. But, expect the unexpected
and bring gear for heat, sun, cold, rain, and snow - and maybe even
mosquitoes if the snow melt is late. You can almost be guaranteed of rain
(sometimes for 3 days back to back). It could also dip to freezing. Very
often the brush is wet with dew soaking you from the legs down.

In 2000 we had a very rainy and cold spell in Oregon that obscured some of
the best scenery and then more of the same in Washington with some freezing
weather. But, in other years, it has been so hot and sunny that only
shorts/T-shirt were needed.

Chances are that Oregon will be warmer and drier than Washington, but don't
bet on it.
