but you might.ive carried a far larger first aid kit in the backcountry for over 30 years,and on almost all of those trips it was "excess" weight,but on the 2 occasions i used it (both for large deep gashes)i really needed it.having the right first aid equiment made it possible for me to get out to help without bleeding to death.  don`t be an "ounce weenie" with your first aid kit,it could save your life.rob
