The PCTA sells small foldable maps for less than a dollar, I believe. Now
this is probably not nice enough. I tried printing most of the Sierra on a
large format printer using Topo! software. The result is 8ft by 3 foot
map. (Doing so without free access to a printer using Kinkos or so will
set you back 200 dollars or more.) But printing the whole PCT could not
easily done this way, because the topo maps are TOO detailed.

What I would suggest is to purchase state maps for CA, WA, OR and hang
them on a wall. Raven seems to have beautifull ones:

Cost is about 90 dollars for all 3. The problem is, that CA is at a scale
of 1:750k while OR and WA are at 1:500k. This means you can't cut and glue
them together easily. Maybe somebody knows a source for a nice west coast
map?
