[pct-l] Ice Axe and Crampon Training

Some of you preparing for thru-hiking in 2004 have asked if there are any 
places where ice axe and crampon training can be had.  I found the following on 
the A16 website.

The Newport Mountaineering Club is a new club formed in the Orange County 
area. It's focus is getting more people out into the outdoors in the offseason, 
winter, and teaching them how to survive and live in the snow. The instruction 
is laid back and not too serious and the trips are all free. Anyone that is 
interested in joining this club or participating in an outing please email me at
