Enter Kings Canyon NP at the Giant Stump entrance and take the Cedar Grove turnoff to the end of the road.  There's a nice 4-day loop hike to the PCT through Paradise Valley, 10 miles south on the PCT (crossing over Glen Pass), then returning down Bubbs Creek canyon back to Cedar Grove.  The Rae Lakes area is one of the most beautiful spots you'll find from Whitney to Yosemite.  You'll need a permit and a bear canister, which can be rented inexpensively within the park.
