You're right about the difference between gear back then and gear now. My
entire pack without food and water weighs about the same as your old tent.
That's rough.

it wasnt rough at all,we were just tougher than all you young whippersnappers:)
but we did have ultralight equitment back then,anyone remember carrying a tube tent?
