I remember one of those trips, to Kings Canyon in SE/KI, probably in 1975.

If I only think lightly of the event, All I can remember was the fun. With
a little more reflection, I remember the horrible blisters. The pain of
trying to stand back up after a rest, the clammy sweat soaked cotton shirt.
Freezing in the dew soaked cotton sleeping bag inside the canvas pup tent.

Yes it was fun, but it would have been WAY MORE fun with a 15# pack, and
modern gear.
