I have found that, unless something  truly history-changing occurs, it seems
more like a time capusle.   It seems kinda like a soap...although I am only
theorizing since I have NEVER watched a soap or a reality show ( I swear it's
true!)... in that nothing seems radically different from day to day.  The
newspapers still talk about who was killed or who dropped a bomb or what
movie star slept with whom... and the stock market is up... or down.   Only
the names are changed.  The only time I can think that things were really
different was when I came out of the Sierra after 5 weeks and lay floor of a
friends house and watched John Dean spill his guts about Richard Nixon.
