Just wanted to add to what Monte said about the annual meeting. I had a fun
time meeting people and learning new tricks. The Playtex baby bottle device
for carrying peanut butter is brilliant. I'm sold on using Aqua Mira on
future trips. And I even got some advice on securing a food cache for an
upcoming trip (although I could always use more help on that subject).
The folks at the PCTA should feel great about what they put on in Seattle. I
saw Monte from a distance and decided that he isn't so "mad" after all--at
least not in that setting. Also met some Class of 2002 thru-hikers and some
folks getting ready to be part of the Class of 2003. I was also impressed
with the number of people who traveled long distances to attend--from
Madison, Wis. and Chicago, for example. When the PCTA holds their annual
meeting in your neighborhood, I'd urge you to attend.
