[pct-l] LD hikers in Seattle and nearby?

Okay Seattle and other nearby '03 PCT thru-hikers (or AT or CDT or just
plain long distance hikers). I am wondering what people think about getting
together live for training/gear test hikes/get togethers/etc.

My experience is that for the die-hard long distance hiker types - you have
to look pretty hard for people who WANT to hike more than 6 miles in a day
and who want to do something other than peak bag all the time (and which may
require climbing skills, etc.). I find that mountain climbing and LD hiking
are two different activities with two different mind sets - as they should
be. I've done all sorts of hiking related activities - glacier climbing,
snow camping, etc., etc., but plain old backpacking for many hours and miles
is still my favorite and I'm interested in finding some like-minded folks
for the occasional sharing of info and actual hiking.

Any thoughts? Any such formal or informal group in existence in the Seattle
or near area? I've eyed the ALDHA membership list many times wondering if I
should just start calling people up to see if they are interested in the
occasional get together for outdoor activities or gear talk over coffee or
the like.

I'll be at the PCTA meeting this Sat if anyone wants to talk live or we can
all chat over the list serve or offline.
