[pct-l] Re: For All thrill Seekers

Sly-
Hey man, sipping cocktails in Maui is absolutely brutal. You thru-hikers
have it easy with those all-you-can-eat joints. You can just eat everything.
You ain't challenged to make those tough decisions.

Just imagine this. You have two PAGES! of exotic drinks made up of fruit
juices and liquor you have never heard of. Different colors, different
consistancies, even different glass shapes. About the only thing common to
them was the slice of pineapple floating orchid and little umbrella in each.
Ok. HOW DO YOU CHOOSE?

I know, I know, just do the thru-hiker thing and get one of each. Live on
the edge.

But, then I'll never get up to go diving at Molokini the next day. I would
have missed the mom and baby dolphin diving to the deep. This was VERY cool
watching from about 70 feet deep. We saw them drive from the surface right
past us on the way to wherever. And....not to mention the Manta Ray, Sharks,
Lobster, Octopus I saw on that dive.

Talk about making a brutal decision. I had to PASS on most of those
wonderful drinks to make the dive. I guess that's the quiet desperation that
Thoreau is talking about.

Tom

Tom,

I don't blame you for feeling this way. I imagine it's tough enough sipping
cocktails on the beach in Hawaii. : )
