[pct-l] Absolute Barebones Dehydrating List
Speaking of dehydrating hamburger... The boiling method removes the most
fat..thus preventing it from going rancid as quickly as other
methods..(frying, draining..and blotting with paper towels)
Just boil the hamburger for 5 -10 minutes...drain off the water and 99.9% of
the fat and then dry it in a conventional oven...
it comes out looking like grapenuts...but it reconstitutes easily and I've
had no problems going 6-8 weeks without any refrigeration at all...
