[pct-l] Cheapy tents of the PCT

If I wanted a cheap tent for the PCT I would contact either Fallingwater
[Ron Moak]or Rainmaker & Brawnie and look at tents specifically designed for
a PCT thruhike. I would NEVER choose a tarp over these hybred designs.

While they are NOT the four season bomb shelter my Stephenson Warmlite is,
they WILL keep rain and bugs out and are very light and reasonably cheap.

The lowly " Coleman Cobra" is a great tent for under 100.00,,, Eureka
Gossier is another fine choice with several models out there completing two
thru-hikes that I know of.
Top end tents like Tom Reynolds favorite" Stephenson Warnlights" are
light
and very roomy as well. ( But not cheap!!)
Fair number of hikers start with light tents for the first half of
their
hike, then after the bugs die out and drier summer conditions start, switch
to tarps for their Oregon leg.
This is info for newbie thru-hikers.
