[pct-l] Poorly educated snowpack guesses ( was Re: El Nino Gossip)

>> So I arrive in Kennedy Meadows in early June. I don't suppose there
is Internet access there to check on the snowpack conditions so how do
I know when it is OK to proceed? Is there a ranger station nearby with
trail condition information? Do I just start hiking until I run into
the
snow and then make a decision? Do all the hikers just stare at each
other
until some brave soul starts up the trail? :-) <<

When you get there it's not likely you'll be alone or the first one. The
trail has a marvelous grape vine network for passing around information.
Unless you're completely antisocial, you'll plug into it soon after you're
on the trail.

Is it just me or has the heat been rising a lot around here lately? We might
want to remember that this is just a trail and we hike for fun! Trail list
should be likewise. Since we're not getting paid, if we're not having fun
then maybe we ought to find something more entertaining to do in our copious
spare time.

We seem to have enough real wars going on at the moment.
