" Flyin Brian " had a great idea with screwing in 1/2 inch sheet metal screws
into running shoes for extra bite on frozen morning snow. ( Like  Car Tire
Studs for Hikers)  Light , cheap and easy.
     I've had great luck with Alum. Crampons with are quite light and up for
most summer Mountaineering with  N.B. running shoes. ( JUst the ticket for a
spring /early summer Whitney, Shasta or Adams climb. ( Or Forester Pass early
in season)
