[pct-l] ? forest service maps ?



The only bit of wisdom that really stuck with me on my first hike along the
PCT was this:

If you come to a fork in the trail  and cannot discern from your map which
way to go...always take the path that leads uphill..

It will be the correct choice 50% of the time...

But, if you find out that the decision was wrong...at least it is downhill
back to the junction...

much better than having to retrace your steps uphill
