[pct-l] dmho/dsmo/fbi/cia/nasa/scarpa

hey what's going on out there? dmho is not an oxymoron, it is an acronym as
are all the 'terms' above. an oxymoron is the cojoining of contradictory
terms, e.g., 'republican intelligence,' 'deafening silence,' etc. the tough
one is what is the cojoining of words such as 'giant shrimp,' which is a
subset of an oxymoron called...? winner gets to take me home.

ishi. new book abt him is by a linguist who ties what is known of ishi's
language (which was almost completely dismissed as anything at the time) and
it's connection to the basque language (whose origin, up to now, could not
be identified as being related to any other human language, past or present,
which is/was the only language thought to have no root relationship w/
anyother) and yiddish! now, that is strange stretch. also, this guy
postulates that yiddish was the root language of the germanic languages,
rather than the commonly accepted theory that yiddish was a 'slang' spin-off
of german. thus, it is thought that the jewish diaspora came to the area we
now know as germany through north africa and spain to germanic regions from
the west, rather than the east. hence the isolated basque language is the
remnants of yiddish. which brings me to the point: some of the best trekking
in all of europe is in the basque region of spain, between bilbao and west
to andorra. these are truly forgotten and mostly unknown lands. not the
trendy spots like new zealand's south island, patagonia or anywhere in
godforsaken australia (whose claim to fame is a big rock, sharks and
alcoholism).

if you can figure out how to survive in the lands between bilbao and
andorra, you will find another world. marc/who survived, barely.
