I use this list in part to keep updated on what's new out there gear-wise. =
Yes, I know and use many of the gear review sites. Even then, I sometimes m=
iss things. I'm strange that way.

I see nothing wrong with manufacturers announcing new items on list or soli=
citing ideas and feedback. David does a good job of this by using his "Item=
s of Interest" section at his site. If I'm interested, I can go look. If I =
want more info, the links are there that take me into his store (mission ac=
complished). If not, I'm outta there!

I DO object to "sale" and "special offer" notifications. That's spam in my =
book.

Formal gear reviews or requests for same are better posted to a site like h=
ttp://www.backpackgeartest.org/
