There was a report by a researcher who had found excellent results with
catnip repelling mosquitos in laboratory experiments.  He was going to try it
out in the local mountains in a real world trial.  Unfortunately, his
battered body was found a week later, hardly identifiable, after a mountain
lion had apparently played with him for several days and then ate the best
tasty parts.

The good news is, though, that the recovered portions of the body did, in
fact, show absolutely no evidence of mosquito bites!
