I am not a lawyer and never have been, although once I dreamed (nightmared ?) of
being one.

Anyway, if Ray first published the idea in his book without claiming patent
protection, I doubt if his case will stand up in court. He's already put the
idea in the public domain. not sorry about that.

Now i'll shut up and enjoy the debate and get back to thinking about
backpacking.
