So remember that one place to stay, half an hour's walk from Donner Pass,
is the Sierra Club Clair Tappaan Lodge:

$41 gets three meals, a bunk, and a shower.    Not nearly as good a deal as
Pooh Corner but it's open almost all year.     There is a post office and
general store a couple miles further in Soda Springs.
