[pct-l] food prep



    I have been considering trying to take some beans on my hike - my 
thought though is if you soak them, it'll soften them, but I'm still 
looking at a 2-3 hour cook for decent softness - so - any suggestions 
here?  They are filling, and definatly within my dietary parameters. 
 anyone do split peas or lentils or anything like that, either?
