[pct-l] Llamas? (was: Are dogs alowed on the trail?)

I've done Burros and Llamas. Llamas are great watchdogs for bears, are much
easier to manage than mules and burros but typically can only do 7-8 miles
while a burro/horse/mule can do much more. Don't know about goats.

In the Owens Valley (east of the Sierras), llamas are used as "watchdogs" to

drive off predators (coyotes, etc.). They are perfect for the job as they 
stand way above the flock of sheep ... they can see everything.
